Fitness Classes to Help Build Strength and Balance

Over 25 years ago, Curves changed women’s fitness by delivering studio fitness without the premium price. While the workouts are only 30 minutes, you feel the benefits long after. Unlike traditional gyms, a Curves membership gives you the tools and support you need to reach your goals and set the stage for a healthier, more active future. When you get stronger, increase your flexibility and work to prevent injury– you’re setting the stage for a healthy, active future. As a member, you can take as many classes as you’d like. Our classes range from low to high intensity, which means you can find a program that works for you.

Higher intensity class touching on all facets of fitness including strength, cardio, speed, power, flexibility, coordination, and agility. Several factors can show how fit we are in terms of our cardiovascular ability including our heart rate while exercising, our breathing and our ability to perform physical movement all of which will be challenged during our new Cardio class. You will build Cardiovascular endurance while moving around the circuit by performing moves such as jump rope and high knees.

Higher intensity class combining cardio, strength, coordination, and balance in a traditional boxing format. Paired with the Curves strength machines, our boxing class offers a total-body conditioning workout offering cardiovascular conditioning combined with core work in traditional boxing movements. All movements are done in-between the circuit strength machines in 30 second increments.

Body Basics

Lower intensity class focuses on strength based functional movements that emphasize the arms, core, and legs. Our coaches are not only able to instruct you on how to use the equipment, they have the added advantage of watching you as you exercise. They can see if your elbows are too high or if you’re keeping your core straight. This not only helps you prevent injury, but ensures you get the most benefit from your workout as well.

Lower intensity class designed to help improve stability and create a strong core. Several factors affect how steady we are on our feet, including muscle strength and mind-body connection, and the Body Balance class has you covered on both fronts. You will build total body strength working your way around the circuit, and between each of the machine stations, you’ll do a single-leg balance exercise like the tree pose from yoga.
